Project: Art Nouveau Exhibition Catalog   Images Words Thumbnails Tags

Most museums focused on the Bauhaus during its centennial. The Haus der Stadtgeschichte (museum of city history) and the Klingspor Museum, two adjacent institutions in Offenbach am Main, rather wanted to present one of its precursors. A cooperative exhibition on Art Nouveau within Offenbach was assembled. Even though a location might not be associated with a certain art style, it’s possible to find historic artifacts and traces within the architecture.

The accompanying publication combines aspects of Art Nouveau art, graphic and product design as well as interiors and buildings in Offenbach. I suggested a wire-o binding, so that everybody can choose their favorite artwork for the cover with the die-cut slipcase also serving as a picture frame.
